Tough Mudder for Stable Lives…

On 10th September, local resident Michaela Farrell will run the Tough Mudder challenge to raise money for local charity Stable Lives.
Stable lives are a local charity based at the equestrian centre in Parbold who aims to support families and children who suffer from Mental Health issues using horses and land-based activities.
The aim is to create a calm and safe place for children and their families to come and relax, find respite, and connect. It is a place to build self-worth and self-esteem, and develop empathy and compassion.
“The effects of linking those suffering with mental health issues with horses who have been mentally and physically neglected is incredibly emotive.” – Stable Lives.
The Stable Lives resource has supported Michaela with her own family and allowed her daughter to find calm and relaxation based on connecting with the horses, and via the activities that take place during the sessions. Michaela said, “It’s amazing what a horse can do for someone’s wellbeing and Mental Health. Stable Lives helps people get back on their feet by building confidence, helping the families look forward to a brighter future”.
“Our aim is to equip the whole family with initially respite services then moving into structured rehabilitation into reconnection into society as a team rather than a group of people in crisis.”
