Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers…

Forty years ago, we celebrated the birth of what we now know and love as Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers, which is not just a running club but a community of people all striving to want what’s best for themselves and for the amazing people of Skelmersdale.

Physical activity has always been a great leveller in society, and regardless of your background, this club will support you on your journey. With just under 100 members, this is a family of friends who use running as their vehicle, not just to create better runners but to make better people, and assist in shaping the future of our community.

Current member Mike Ashton returned to the club last year after a long battle with mental health and is now one of the club’s mental health ambassadors. Mike will next year complete his childhood dream of running the London Marathon and will be representing his hometown club with pride in their famous amber and black strip.

Mike proudly shares how much this club and its members have contributed to his success story, saying, “When I returned last June, I was lost and really struggling to cope with the daily rigours that life was throwing at me, but I was quickly welcomed and made to feel at home. My transformation since has been incredible, and I’m finally where I belong”

If you’ve had a tough time and can relate to Mike’s story, then come along and join us. Visit our website www.skelmersdaleboundaryharriers.com or drop us a message at enquiries@skelmersdaleboundaryharriers.com for more details.
