Carl Eaton’s Tough Mudder- Skelmersdale’s Superhero!

Local man, friend of the magazine and manager of Skem Menaces Disabled Football Team, Carl Eaton, has done amazing work- as he and a team of other intrepid fundraisers, Miriam, Carl, Stephen and Kyle, embarked on a Tough Mudder this September, to raise money- every penny going to Amy and Friends Cocklayne Syndrome and Trichothiodystrophy Support, and an amazing girl named Lily Mae.
The course he and his team took was three whole miles, with thirteen obstacles, done all while covered in mud, as you’d expect from a name like Tough Mudder, where his team pulled him to glory- a little bruised and battered, but full of pride! Lily Mae and her amazing family were there to cheer him on, as well as many others- those in person and those who donated online to help his cause. He even surpassed his target of £5,000, with over 200 supporters donating on his crowdfund page!

Carl is always hard at work managing his amazing football team, and being team leader of a support service for young men; this endeavour is further proof of his unbreakable spirit and generous soul. We at About the Town look forward to seeing what amazing things he’ll be doing next, and we’re so proud and impressed by this amazing man, his journey, and the amazing things he spreads into the world.
