Power Up Graduate Digital Bootcamp…

NEWS RELEASE: Graduate Digital Bootcamp – West Lancashire College

With the UK facing significant digital skills shortages and demand for these highly sought-after skills greater than ever, West Lancashire College is delighted to introduce an innovative new project – Power Up Digital Bootcamp.

In partnership with The Extraordinary Club, the college will deliver this intensive, skills led programme, that has been co-designed with local and regional employers to ensure that skills gaps and job vacancies specific to our region are being met.

The programme is aimed at graduates aged 21-34 who are looking to retrain for a new career in Digital Skills, and starts this September 2020.

The 10-week bootcamp will include programming, digital marketing and content creation, there will be set challenges and projects, mentoring and interviews with employers, plus monthly big brand talks from the likes of Facebook, Lego and Accenture who will travelling to the region to deliver inspirational workshops on the future of tech and digital. Successful completion of the project will connect graduates to guaranteed interviews for real jobs to gain a salaried position or an Apprenticeship.

Power Up Digital Bootcamp is a government funded initiative to move people into digital roles with the aim of addressing locally identified digital skills gaps, filling hard to fill digitally focused vacancies and improving the productivity of employers through digital upskilling of local people. The initiative will enable local people to access digital roles and gain meaningful employment through connectivity directly into employers.

Dawn Paine, Co-Founder of The Extraordinary Club said “The Extraordinary Club is delighted to be partnering with West Lancashire College to deliver Power Up – an exciting new digital bootcamp which will upskill some of our brightest talent in all aspects of digital, connecting them to opportunities with some of the region’s, and indeed world’s, biggest brands.

We are grateful for our partnership with the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub whose funding via the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund has made this possible.”
