Have you ever considered taking up an instrument but have yet to decide which to try? How about the Ukelele?

Ormskirk Ukelele Club meets each Thursday evening between 7.30pm-10pm at the Ormskirk Rugby Club on Green Lane, and whether you’re a beginner or a pro, everybody is welcome to attend. Your first visit is free, and if you decide it’s right up your street, you can then opt for a £10 per month membership, which will open up all kinds of opportunities for you, including access to learning resources on the club’s websites, which you can find here: www.ormskirkukuleleclub.co.uk and here: www.ouc.tidyhq.com

Club nights are split into two sessions; the first session starts with ten beginners’ songs before taking a short break for some refreshments and a chat, followed by a 15-minute open mic session. The second session of the night involves a mix of another ten songs for beginners and more advanced songs, followed by new songs for the group.

In addition to regular socials and club nights, the group also hosts theme nights, which are an excellent opportunity to dress up and have fun. The performer’s group will play at community events in order to raise funds for charity, and they are also available for hire at private functions!

This is a fantastic opportunity for music enthusiasts, especially Ukelele players of any age, and anyone wanting to get musically creative and make new friends, so why not pop down, check it out and strum the night away?
