It’s Christmas time, and Carl and Mim Eaton score tops for supporting local food banks…

Christmas time calls for the 13^th year of Skem Men-ACES Santa Dash and Santa Scores, which involves over 40 players of various ages and abilities dressing up as Santa and playing a football match. Before this festive event, each player is asked to bring along a food item that will help make up some food hampers for the Evermoor Hub this Christmas.

Mim says, “We make up all the food we receive through donations into Hampers for Evermoor Hub, which opens Christmas day for anyone who needs it. The hampers are full of goodies and essentials, and people can take them home so they can enjoy them with their families. Some years we have made 40-50 hampers, and others, we’ve only managed 25; it all depends on the donations – but we welcome anyone to donate what they can to help us.”

It’s not just at Christmas when the power due Mim and Carl Eaton support their community; they have an incredible portfolio of events and initiatives they’ve created or been part of to raise money and food for local people. Earlier this year, there was the ‘Escape from Skem’ challenge we covered in a previous issue, and of course, Mim’s ‘Running for Food Challenge’ that she recently completed.
