Local school wins virtual sports competition…

Local schools recently took part in the very first virtual sport competition hosted by SHARES.  Whilst it was a bit different to what we are used to, the children involved really enjoyed taking part in the competition!
The first competition was focused on Handball and consisted of penalty shootout. Each team consisted of 5 players, each player had two attempts and the winning team was the one who scored the most goals. The goalkeeper must stand two steps away from the goal and the player who takes the penalty is 9 steps away from the goal.
The winning team overall was Little Digmoor Primary School (pictured) and Brookfield Park Primary School came in second.
These kids demonstrated great work on behalf of the schools that participated, and we cannot wait to see the results of the next competition which is Basketball!
Good luck to all the teams!

Having lived and worked in Skelmersdale my entire life, I noticed that local magazine publications tended to leave Skelmersdale out. The only communication we were receiving was from our local newspaper, and I felt that there was a gap in the market to bring something unique to the town.
