New Years Resolutions?
The last few weeks I’ve been thinking, what’s with all this New Year, New me, malarkey? I’ve seen tons of it on social media, and I even did it myself! Truth is, I believe we put so much pressure on ourselves to make the most of the turning of the year, that in reality, we really struggle to keep with those promises we made to ourselves. It’s self-sabotage at its best!
Now, with the New Year fully in swing, I’m sure one or two of you can join me in confessing that some of our resolutions have been broken already? I’d promised to take the dogs for more walks, promised to cut down on bread, and to drag that cross trainer out from under the stairs (which is currently being used as a coat hanger). None of which I have actually done! To be fair, I’m in the midst of a house move, as well as putting together the next edition of the magazine for you lovely lot, and sometimes these things happen!
Even if you don’t have major issues preventing you from executing your resolutions, don’t be so hard on yourself! It may come as a surprise, but I am here to tell you that you can actually choose any day of the week, month or year to make changes to your life if you so wish! Whether that be cutting down on bread, committing to an exercise plan, or even spending less time on social media! You don’t need a new year to create a new you! Even if you only make one small change, you will see a huge difference in your life. Stop over committing and putting unnecessary pressure on yourself! There’s a saying that 80% of your outcome comes from 20% of your efforts! So why not make a small change that you can stick to, and eventually that small change will become a habit, and in no time at all you’ll be reaping the rewards!
