Spring Update

Finally, Spring is on the horizon after what has felt like a never-ending Winter season! I hope you are all ok, I know this has been a truly difficult time. 

Since our last issue, we have been busy makes lots of changes to our business and have been planning for a fantastic 2021. Although things haven’t got off to a great start with the lockdown, we spent our time working on how we can best serve you in the coming year. This began with a brand-new website! If you haven’t already seen it, please do go check it out! We work hard to bring you as much positive local news as we can, offering you some inspiration and celebrating our town! As you can see, our magazine has also had a little facelift! All of this would not be possible without the fantastic efforts of the marketing team at Artz!

In the spirit of bringing you the best we can, we recently invited a few local individuals to become members of our board of directors. The new members have been elected to help represent our town and create diversity when we are making decisions that benefit our community. In this issue we have focused heavily on literary accomplishments! We have had a local school send in a collection of fabulous poems written by the children on the subject of friendships, we have two local new book writers, a brand-new local book publisher, a look at Shakespeare’s coffee shop and library, and a local book shop owner sharing insight into why reading to and with children is so beneficial! 

I’d like to close my editor’s note by congratulating Bramley’s Cafe for winning the free page advertisement giveaway that we ran in our last issue! The prize, worth £290, was given away based on nominations and a public vote, so a huge congratulations to them! Check out their advert on page 10. I’d like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to the other nominations too; The Coach House, Accidentally on Purpose by Daisy and Winners not Sinners!
