The Legacy Project: Bridging the Gap Between Education and Employment for Young People with Additional Needs.

The Divine Days Legacy Project is a nationally acclaimed supported internship programme that is shattering barriers by providing opportunities for 16-24-year-olds facing unique challenges to gain paid employment.

With an outstanding employment success rate of 70%, The Legacy Project has proven that with the right support and dedication, individuals with additional needs can thrive in the workforce. Through strategic partnerships with local businesses and West Lancashire College, up to three placements are offered, providing a comprehensive learning experience that combines academic growth with practical skills development.

The presence of a dedicated job coach enables support to interns, bridging the gap between education and employment. By breaking down tasks and fostering a supportive environment, the job coach empowers interns to build confidence, independence, and valuable skills that pave the way for a successful career journey. With the support of a job coach, students do 2 days of college, where they work on Maths, English and Employability skills, and then they will do 3 days on placement.

The success stories emerging from the Legacy Project speak volumes, with interns securing positions in diverse industries such as IT, Administration, and Joinery. Each achievement is a testament to the transformative impact of this programme, highlighting the potential and capabilities of every individual involved.
