Title: An ATT Kind of Summer…
A community-led summer offering free creativity, connection and support for local families.
“Helping support local families this summer.”
There’s something a lot of parents fear about the summer holidays, the dreaded moment the kids ask: “What are we doing today?”
For some families, that question brings quiet panic about how they’re going to get through six long weeks. Because let’s be honest, it’s a long time. Not every family is off to theme parks, expensive day trips or all-inclusive holidays.
For many families in Skelmersdale, summer is about stretching food shops further, finding affordable things to do, and hoping the weather stays decent enough that the kids can just play outside for a bit.
That’s one of the reasons why, throughout the summer holidays, About the Town Central, based in the Concourse, will continue offering free family arts and crafts every Saturday between 10am-12pm.
We’ll also be offering free colouring books, games (including pool and table tennis), plus there will be free fruit available for children every Thursday to Saturday, 10am–3pm throughout the holidays.
Every brew bought, every volunteer hour given, and every bit of support poured into About the Town helps create things like this for local families. This is local people helping local people. And that’s exactly how community should be.
