A Season to Celebrate: Christmas at the Concourse

The Concourse Shopping Centre is getting ready for a busy and joyful festive season, with plenty of free activities, local markets, live performances, and family entertainment lined up throughout December. From carols and Christmas characters to festive shopping and community spirit, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Carols Return to the Concourse

Back by popular demand, the Concourse will once again host two weeks of Christmas carols, starting from Sunday 8th December. Local schools, churches, and community groups will be filling the mall with festive music and cheer. The carols have become a much-loved tradition at the centre, a chance for shoppers to stop, listen, and enjoy the sounds of the season while supporting the incredible local talent that makes Skelmersdale special.

Made in WN8 Christmas Markets

The ever-popular Made in WN8 markets will return this year with two festive markets, on Friday 6th December and Saturday 13th December. Each market will be packed with handmade gifts, crafts, local produce, and unique items from independent traders. It’s the perfect place to pick up Christmas presents with a personal touch, while supporting small local businesses and creatives.

A Traditional Christmas: Saturday 13th December

On Saturday 13th December, from 11am to 3pm, the Concourse will be hosting a Traditional Christmas Theme Day. Expect a visit from The Grinch alongside stilt-walking Nutcrackers, Candy Cane performers, and the Gingerbread Ladies handing out free gingerbread treats.

There’ll also be a free face painter on the mall, so families can enjoy a day full of festive fun and entertainment. It’s a great opportunity to make some memories, enjoy the decorations, and feel the spirit of the season.

Winter Wonderland: Saturday 20th December

The festive celebrations continue the following weekend with the Winter Wonderland Theme Day on Saturday, 20th December, from 11am to 3pm.

This magical day will feature Buddy the Elf, Santa and his Elf, and special guests Anna and Elsa from Frozen, who will be hosting a sing-along and meet-and-greet session. There’ll also be stilt-walking Nutcrackers, a Clockwork Ballerina, and plenty of opportunities for photos and festive fun.

It’s set to be a highlight of the Christmas calendar and a day that families won’t want to miss.

Something Musical in the Air

Keep your eyes (and ears) open, something musical is coming to the Concourse this Christmas. A piano will soon make its way onto the mall, inviting shoppers and visitors to share their musical talents and help create some spontaneous festive magic. More details will be announced soon.
