It’s been really inspiring to see local businesses adapt the way they work to account for the circumstances we are faced with at the moment.  This is great for our community spirit, and our local economy. Unfortunately, there are many businesses who can’t continue at the moment, and to those businesses, we are sending you all our best wishes for when things pick up and you are able to trade again. 

Early this month we celebrated VE Day!  The weather was fantastic, and spirits were up!  Many people celebrated this special day, some with BBQ’s, some with front garden parties!

We celebrated by giving you the chance to win some vouchers!  Our VE Day themed Word Search was a bit of fun, and our winner was pleased with her £10 High Street vouchers!

On the subject of winners…

…we also announced the three winning pieces of writing for our Children’s Creative Writing Competition!  We had some amazing entries, and our top three will be published in our Summer Edition of our magazine!  Each winner also received £10 to spend at Amy’s Amazing Stories book shop!

To help to keep you and your family entertained we have been running some fun online family quizzes!  For the past few Saturdays, at 3pm on Facebook, we have had a quiz for our followers to take part in! 

The week before last we saw Emelia win a colouring kit and some chocolates, last week the winner won a sweet box delivery courtesy of Sweet Addiction!

We have asked our community if they’d like to see more, and they have answered yes! So, for the next few weeks we will be running our online quiz every Saturday at 3pm on our Facebook page! Each week will have theme and it will be aimed at families so everyone can take part!

You could take advantage of some freetraining with FTW Training.  They are currently offering a training package to become a qualified Forklift Truck Driver.  The great news is the theory part of the learning can be done at home now, and once safe, the practical elements can be completed later.
