Celebrating 5 Years of Creativity: Made in WN8’s First Ever Youth Market!

As Made in WN8 celebrates its fifth year of championing creativity and innovation, we are excited to announce our next step in supporting the local community: the launch of our first-ever Youth Market! Taking place on Saturday, 7th December 2024, at Skelmersdale Concourse, this brand-new initiative aims to showcase the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of our town’s young people.

What is the Made in WN8 Youth Market?

The Youth Market is a free initiative designed to give young creators, aged 13 to 20, a platform to display and sell their handmade goods. Whether you’re crafting jewellery, artwork, or other creative products, this is your chance to shine! To get involved, simply email us at madeinwn8@gmail.com with pictures of your products, and secure your spot in this exciting event.

Beyond just products, we’re also calling for young performers to join the event. Musicians, bands, dancers, and comedians—if you’re between 13 and 20, this is the perfect stage to showcase your talents to a local audience. We’re passionate about bringing energy, diversity, and vibrancy to Skelmersdale, and our hope is to foster a thriving market that will attract a new generation of shoppers and visitors to the Concourse.

The Angel Gowns Workshop

In the lead-up to our Youth Market, we were proud to partner with Artisan Partisan to host a special sewing workshop on October 23rd. Held at About the Town Central, this workshop had a meaningful focus: creating beautiful angel gowns from donated wedding dresses in honour of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The gowns, made with care and love, were donated to local maternity units to be given to families who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of stillbirth.
