Welcome to Skelmersdale’s Ayurveda Health Centre

Another one of Skelmersdale’s hidden gems is the Ayurveda Health Centre located almost next to the Maharishi Dome in Woodley Park. It is the earliest Ayurveda health centre in the country, having been established in 1986 when Ayurveda was largely unknown in the UK.

Ayurveda means “the science of life” and it claims to be the world’s most ancient health care system. This timeless, practical knowledge promotes prevention, revitalisation, rejuvenation and cure in a natural way. As every person is different, the Ayurvedic approach is highly personalised and begins with a one-to-one consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor. The first consultation lasts an hour,  with follow-ups taking 30 minutes.

Vaidya Amitha Rudraraju, an experienced Ayurvedic doctor, has been practising Ayurveda since 2000. She completed her BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) from the University of Mysore in 2001 after seven years of rigorous training in India. With 24 years of clinical practice, Vaidya Rudraraju offers consultations at the Skelmersdale Centre once a month.

During the consultation, you will receive an Ayurvedic assessment of your current state of health, remedy recommendations, and lifestyle and dietary advice to improve your health.

Health problems often come from the type of food and drink we consume, the air we breathe, the toxins we are exposed to, lack of good quality sleep and even from the weather. These imbalances create internal toxicity and physical/mental stresses that underly most modern ailments.

Once such problems are detected, the Ayurvedic practitioner will recommend lifestyle changes, herbal remedies and treatments designed to eliminate accumulated toxins and stresses and re-establish balance within your whole mind-body system.

They aim to help improve your health day after day by optimising your body’s inherent self-healing mechanisms.

In the consultation, you will:

  • Learn about your constitution or mind-body type
  • Find out what imbalances are in your system
  • Get advice on diet and daily routine
  • Find which herbal supplements can help you
  • Learn which Ayurvedic treatments can help restore your balance.
  • Consultations can be done in person, via phone or online.

Phone 01695 735351 or email info@panchakarmacentre.co.uk to book an in-person consultation.
