What’s New at the Concourse This Summer…

This summer, the Concourse Shopping Centre is introducing some welcome changes, with new businesses opening, community events taking shape, and opportunities available for small, independent traders. Whether you visit regularly or occasionally, there’s something new to see and be part of.

New Shops Now Open

A few new retailers have recently joined the Concourse. Bonzi City offers handmade bonsai trees – unique, thoughtful items that make ideal gifts or decorative touches for the home. Their range adds something a little different to the centre’s offering.

Baby Nest, a new baby clothing store, has also opened its doors. It stocks a variety of affordable, good-quality clothing for babies and toddlers, ideal for new parents or anyone buying for little ones.

In food news, the former chip shop has been taken over by a well-known local food business. The revamped menu will include jacket potatoes, kebabs, pizzas, chips and more, offering a wider range of takeaway favourites for shoppers and visitors alike.

Free Entry at the Arcade

One recent change following customer feedback is that the new arcade is now free to enter. This makes it easier for families and individuals to enjoy the games and entertainment on offer without any up-front cost.

Live Art Project Starting End of May

Starting at the end of May, Entrance 13, next to Argos, will be getting a makeover. Local artist Lisa Yates from The Mural Lisa will be creating a new piece of public artwork on site, transforming the space over several weeks. She’ll be working live, meaning visitors can watch the mural come together step by step throughout the project.

Thank You for Supporting ‘Love Your Local Market’ Week

A big thank you goes out to everyone who joined in during Love Your Local Market week, which ran from 16th to 31st May. The Market Hall continues to play an important role in the Concourse, and there are plans to revamp it later this year to create a better space for shoppers and traders alike.

The Market is currently on the lookout for new food vendors. With many of the units falling under the business rate threshold, it’s a good time to trial a business idea without heavy costs. Your Invitation to our 4th of July Independence Day Traders Market in East Square

On Friday, 4th July, from 10am to 2pm, the Concourse will host a special Independence Day event in East Square. All small independent businesses based at the centre are invited to take part, with free tables provided.

It’s a great opportunity for local people to explore what these businesses have to offer, all in one place. Expect free samples, giveaways, and the chance to try locally made products. Whether you’re interested in food, crafts, clothing or something a bit different, the event is a chance to support local businesses and discover something new.
